Background of standard preparation
Waste plastics have the characteristics of many kinds of materials, wide scrap sources, diverse colors, and large differences in material properties, and only through the classification, sorting and packaging of recycled waste plastics can the recycling value of waste plastics be better played. At the same time, in the process of waste plastic trading, there is a lack of normative definition and quality assessment standards for waste plastic commodities, resulting in frequent trading disputes.
In 2021, the China Materials Recycling Association issued a series of standard tasks on the preparation of "waste plastics trading norms", regulating the transaction process of waste plastics, defining and coding the commodities of waste plastics, and developing quality classification evaluation and acceptance methods for a large and wide range of waste plastics source categories. These include the "Waste plastics trading Code" T/CRRA 0304-2022(published on August 5, 2022), "Waste polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle brick quality Classification Evaluation and acceptance" (T/CRRA) 0307-2023) "Waste Electrical and electronic products Disassembled plastic quality classification evaluation and acceptance" (T/CRRA 0308-2023), "Waste polypropylene (PP) lunch box quality classification evaluation and acceptance" (T/CRRA) 0309-2023), "Waste high-density polyethylene (HDPE) bottle brick quality classification evaluation and acceptance" (T/CRRA 0310-2023), "Waste plastic flexible packaging quality classification evaluation and acceptance" (drafting) six standards. The series of standards will further promote the standardization and normative process of the waste plastic recycling industry, guide the raw material end (waste plastic recycling and sorting link) to transport standardized raw materials (waste plastics) according to the standard, standardize non-standard goods, and standardize the incoming acceptance method of recycling and processing enterprises.
